Amara's Acts of Kindness

Today we brought Amara's Acts of Kindness to Haiti...

....Continuing Amara's work - sharing kindness and  

the message of God's love with others. 

Amara's Acts of Kindness was started by one of her 

closest friends Abby.

Amara was 8 years old. 

   

Small groups to talk about Amara and her love for others and Jesus

Amara passed away on July 26th, 2012. 

One little girls love for Jesus and others is spreading across the world! 

Amara was the sweetest and kindest girl you could 

ever know. 

Amara always showed love towards others.

Amara had the biggest heart.

She also had the biggest faith.

Abby was her friend, but 

Jesus was her BEST Friend. 

Amara spent her life telling others about Jesus,  

even at the hospital when she was so sick.

She inspired others, changed lives, and 

deepened the faith of so many people 

through her experiences and 

through the fearlessness and unending faith

 she showed everyday.

 In her 8 years of life, she made a difference 

on this earth and impacted others in a way that most 

people could only hope to do in 100.

 Amara’s light will always continue here on earth. 

Her testimony will live on and it will 

continue to impact others.

 We here at Grace Village are pledging to show acts

 of kindness towards others each day, starting

 today, so a day doesn’t go by that Amara’s light

 doesn’t still shine here on this earth just as bright 

as it always did.

Bread Oven Success!!

The day has finally come!! After completion of this beautiful bread oven several months ago the day has finally come when we fired it up!! 

God brought just the right people into our path....

LET THE COOKING BEGIN!!

PREP TALK--Discussing all the GOOD that GOD is doing and
going to do through this ministry!!!

No cooking would be complete if Chef Jean wasn't around!! 

We cannot express how grateful we are for Ross and all his expertise! Only GOD could bring about such a perfect connection at just the right time! Love it when HE does that!! 

Let the teaching begin!!! :) Starting off will a little flat bread!

A little pizza tossing lesson from Ross...."Let gravity do it's thing" ;)  

Practice makes perfect....he could use a little more practice. But I can't really be one to talk.... ;) I know gravity would probably get the best of me and my dough! 

So proud of his creation!!! And rightfully so!! :)

Now that Jean was a master....we moved onto our ladies who do all the cooking for the kids!! Look at what good students they are watching and listening attentively! :)

Thanks to Semy for translating for Ross so all these lovely ladies knew what to do! 

Look at them go!!! They were excited about it and very eager to learn AND of course have a little taste! :) 

Look at the joy...all the opportunities that can come from this....just makes me smile!! 

HARD AT WORK!!

LOOK AT THESE AMAZING LITTLE BUNS!!! THEY LOOK GREAT AND TASTED DELICIOUS!!! I JUST MAY HAVE TO GET MYSELF OUT THERE AND START LEARNING!! I COULD EAT THESE EVERY DAY!! AND WHEN THEY ARE WARM....UMMMM SO TASTEY!!! 


MADE YESTERDAY....BREAKFAST TODAY!! 

                         

NEXT ON THE LIST TO LEARN....SOME OF OUR ELDERLY!!! 

FOOD FOR THEM AND THEIR FAMILIES AND JOB CREATION WHEN THEY SELL IT AT THE MARKET!! 

They jumped right in and got their hands dirty!! Or maybe I should say whole arms!! ;)

After all their hard work they made their first sale!! Yay Cathy!! :) They were so proud! Although they did charge her a little more because she was American ;) Leave it to Ofane to crack the jokes!! 

Look at that....making another sale! He may not have been American but he had American money! ;)

Can't get enough of the two bakers!!! They were filled with so much joy!! I think someone was a little to interested in his bread to smile for the camera ;)


They got their bags ready full of bread and ready to sell at the market!! Praying for big sales! :)

                    

Ofane made a special connection with Ross! He has been such a blessing to all of us here!! Thank you Ross for all your help!! 

GOD IS DOING AMAZING THINGS HERE AND I LOVE IT!!

Long Overdue Update... :)

So here it is....

the LONG OVERDUE UPDATE...

The whole family (besides dad) made a trip to Florida to do the whole disney scene!! An amazing time with family but also tugged at my heart about the excess of everything. But it was about spending time with family and it was great!! 

 Just like when we were kids...

From Florida my mom came back to Haiti with me to spend some time with me at Grace Village!! 

She was able to love up on my
amazing elderly!! They
loved meeting her!!

She made a delicious meal with some
steak we brought back from the states!!
Love my steak!! :) 

got a little work out in walking up and down the mountains! 

Even did a little weight lifting with some rocks!
That was the little mans idea! :)

Even after all that she had time scrapped
out all the ice build up in our freeze one day!!
Not to mention she organized all our tupperware!!
Man it's good to have mom around!! :)

We got to take a little trip to the beach
for dinner and spend some time
with some of my favorite Haitians! 

Just waiting....you know how that goes in Haiti! ;)

Excited for the clinic to be completed and
 new housing for the missionary family
coming down this fall!!! 

The plants from the aquaponics continue to blossom!! 

OUR BOYS ARE ALWAYS SO HANDSOME...ESPECIALLY ON SUNDAYS!! :) 

AND WE HAVE ALL KINDS OF NEW METAL ART THAT IS AVAILABLE!!
